Ongoing Projects

Experiential Learning

P1100432

The Experiential Learning Group is one of my passions. It is an initiative dedicated to experiential learning courses through the School of Environment, Resources, and Sustainability. Students who participate in these courses directly engage with the learning process through interaction in and out of the classroom. These experiences are accompanied by thoughtful reflection helping to encourage more deeply rooted connections between students, their community and nature.

(Re)Maker Society Research

P1030115

Unleashing the capacity of community-based hacking spaces and Maker projects to engage ordinary people, unpick the psycho-cultural attractions of consumerism, change behaviour and transform local economies.

I have completed original research throughout the province of PEI and in the Ontario cities of Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Guelph.

The Third Basin

Chaos-Theory

The Third Basin relates to ideas in systems thinking; it alludes to the unknown (but definitely different) future that awaits humanity outside of the current “basin of attraction” (arguably best defined as the capitalist political economy). While most of my projects fall under this category it is also the best way to describe my future primary research for my PhD.

Environment Festival

The Faculty of Environment Festival is a festival to highlight the outcomes of student work and to foster community among the faculty. With the invaluable help of my organizing committee, we successfully pulled off the first annual festival in March 2015.
